She picked out the cutest Robert Allen fabric called Botany Flora in Taupe. I was surprised the color is called taupe because it reads more of a gray.
After hearing what she had in mind, I suggested the button bands in a contrasting linen fabric to give it a little interest. I even covered the buttons with the main fabric. It definitely gives the valance a more polished look and adds another texture to the treatment. I repeated the contrast linen fabric on the bottom edge of the roman shade too.
The valance is mounted on a board using velcro for easy installation and removal.
