Fabric as Wall Art

After finishing the shower curtain, I was looking at the blank wall over the toilet wondering what in the world I was going to put there.  Before, I didn't have anything hanging on the wall because I never found anything I liked.  I wasn't going to stop until I found something great.

After purchasing several different options and not liking any of them, I wound up framing a complimentary fabric to the one I used on the bottom of the shower curtain.

It looks good,  matches AND it was super cheap! In this picture, you can see the two fabrics together.

I purchased two square frames from Hobby Lobby for $5 each and bought 1/3 yard of fabric (that was 60% off).  I decided what I wanted to see in the frame and cut the fabric with a few inches around the perimeter (enough to wrap it around the back).  I wrapped it around and secured it with painter's tape on the back.  That's it!  Two "prints" for about $15!!

Easier Than I Thought!

  2. Hi! I love this idea! I've thought of doing this with some cute IKEA fabric, but never had. I also love the idea of wrapping fabric around a frame like a canvas... :O)

  3. nice! I think those are the same hobby lobby frames I used to frame some vintage wrapping paper for Christmas decorating. The fabric looks great with the shower curtain :)

    1. I like that idea, Gretchen. I've seen people actually wrap the entire frame, but I like the idea of displaying the paper in the frame much better. Thanks for the inspiration!
