Here's the before and after:
You may recognize the mirror as the one that was hanging in my dining room. It's the one I love to paint. The one I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby for $40!
After searching store after store for the right mirror, I wound up putting the dining room mirror in the bathroom. All I had to do was change the hooks so that it would hang vertically. It's a great scale for the room, and the beveled edges really refract the light. The large rectangle mirror frames your face when you stand in front of it too!
I know it's not your typical vanity mirror, but I think that makes the room much more interesting. The moral of this story is to not be afraid to find a new home for things you already have and try something different. I loved this mirror in the dining room. After my sister suggested it for the bathroom, I thought it would be too much and too big. In reality, it's just what the room needed.
The room already feels much larger with the "new" mirror! Just wait until I change out that shower curtain! That's right. You'll have to wait. :)
